Multiple OS
How many server Operating Systems could you choose from?
Each and every notebook or desktop or server is run by an Operating System - the low-level program which communicates with the computer hardware, including peripheral devices such as a mouse and a printer, together with any apps that are currently installed on the system. Any program input through a command line or a Graphical User Interface (GUI) is processed by sending an Application Program Interface (API) request to the Operating System. On a server, each application runs within the parameters specified by the OS as well - priority, physical memory, processing time, etcetera. This is valid for both standard site scripts and server-side software like a media server. If a virtual server is created on a physical one, there can be two separate Operating Systems, called guest OS and host OS, which means that you will be able to set up a different software environment on a single machine.

We offer three Operating Systems with our
dedicated server packages - CentOS, Ubuntu and Debian. They are all different Linux distributions and we offer them not only because they are freely available and they won't increase the price of your new server, but also because they are extremely secure and stable. Each of them is supported by a vast community of web developers, so you will be able to choose from thousands of software packages that you may install on your server in case the app that you want to employ has certain requirements. The Operating System will also determine what hosting Control Panel you can use because the Control Panels that we offer run on particular OSs only and because we would like to provide you with as much adaptability as possible, we offer several OSs and multiple Control Panels. In case you get a server with a certain Operating System, we can change it upon request in the event that it turns out that you need a different one. We can also keep the OS updated weekly as part of our useful Managed Services upgrade.
