A catch-all email mailbox receives messages sent to invalid addresses under the same domain. For example, an email sent to the miswritten suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. Thus, you can get email messages from acquaintances or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a typo or to an out-of-date one, which they may still have, but you have already deleted. Just one mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for such a mailbox. This is due to the fact that at a certain point you may begin receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction implies that the spam will not be redirected to a 3rd-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting
In case you have a shared service with us and you’d like to enable the catch-all feature for a particular email mailbox that you’ve got in the web hosting account, it will take literally just one mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to achieve this. A catch-all button is available to the right of each and every email address that you have set up under any domain registered in your account. You can pick one single email address per domain name by clicking on the respective button. This will activate the feature momentarily, so all messages sent to miswritten addresses will be delivered there. Clicking on the button for a second time will turn off the catch-all feature. In case you have activated email forwarding, our system will show a cautionary notice and you won’t be able to enable the catch-all feature unless you disable the forwarding or you can simply pick another mailbox to be the catch-all one.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
The catch-all option can be enabled without any effort in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated server plan with our company. All the email addresses that you’ve set up with the domain names hosted in your account will be enumerated in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you’ll find a tiny button conveniently situated right next to each of them. With just a mouse click, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your liking as long as there isn't another mailbox under the same domain name with this option already enabled and there isn't active email forwarding. Alternatively, you can right-click on a mailbox and activate this feature using the menu that will show up. In case any of the conditions for setting up a catch-all mailbox is not met, our system will warn you, but will not disable or replace anything automatically.
